Martino Di Silvestro was born in Sicily, Italy, in 1972. He works as architect and photographer.

In 1993 he started taking his first pictures developing and printing by hand. From this time on, the camera became his best companion, an instrument for searching and revealing the wonders of everyday life. Martino describes himself as a street photographer who hopes to explore the unexpected, the unknown with photography.

He has been exploring Sicily for many years: as a result, he completed a body of work about his native city, Siracusa, which is called “Ortygia”. Besides he has developed several themes by travelling: among others the projects "Italian Sikhs" and “36 hours in...”

He works on long term projects but he is also open to short-term assignments. In 2007 he had his first exhibition at UlisPhoto festival, in Istanbul, where he exhibited a selection of his sicilian photographs, titled "Sicilya".
